We were faced with needing to clean up an estate and had no idea how to begin. Then we found Richard Old’s Estate Services business on the Internet and contacted him. He came to look at what we had. He was very straight forward with us. In view of the massive scope of the project and his previous commitments, he was unable to take on our sale. He did, however, give us as much advice about how to handle the situation ourselves as we wanted. Richard Old is a very generous and patient teacher. He started by warning us to never throw away anything. Even certain empty cans, bottles and boxes can be of value to collectors . He went on to describe strategies for when and how to hold the sale, how to advertise it, how to price things, and how to minimize safety risks for our customers. He listed a number of pit-falls to avoid if possible. He also offered to send a notice of our sale to his email list of customers, and told us where and how to put signs around town during the sale. It took us another year to get ready for the sale. When we were finally ready Richard was again right there for us. He made some more suggestions based on what we had done so far, and sent our sale notice to his email list of customers (which resulted in more than half of our total sales). I highly recommend Richard Old to anyone who is faced with needing to clean up an estate. I expect that if he is able to assist you, he will be very thorough and prompt. If he decides your situation is not for him (as in our case) he will continue to give you all the help you can imagine, as he did for us.
