After the death of our mother the family had to face reality – the things Mom treasured for years were not our treasures. We kept those things that were meaningful for us and did not have to spend time and energy on the lifetime’s accumulation of tchotchkes, kitchen utensils and craft supplies.
Mr. Old was dealing with a tight schedule and incipient flu, but somehow managed to complete the job more than two weeks ahead of schedule.
We especially appreciated Mr. Old’s approach to the disposal of the treasures. Buyers were located for much of it, everything left that could be recycled was, and as little as possible was discarded. It makes us happy to know that many of her treasures can now be treasured by others – and even more happy to have it be quick, efficient and most of all done.
